Bringing democracy to the US

By

Remember those howls by Democrats of voter fraud last November?  Well, it seems they were right.  There was voter fraud.  Lots of it. By Democrats.  Newsday.com: Possible Voter Fraud Found in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE —— About 4,500 more ballots than registered voters were cast in the election last November in Milwaukee, investigators said Tuesday.

Also, more than 200 felons voted improperly in Milwaukee, and more than 100 instances of suspected double—voting were found.

No howling now from Democrats.

Incidentally, this tip of the iceberg fraud does show how democracy is subverted when voting requirements are so casual.

Wisconsin allows same—day registration, and those who are already registered can simply show up at the polls without ID.

At the minimum, registration should be closed a month in advance of the election; proof of citizenship and IDs should be required as a condition for registering and later voting. Oh sure, those determined to distort elections will do so but at least they'll have to work at it. And of course,  flagrant election cheating will be a bit harder.  That's always good.

After all, if we're fighting for democracy overseas certainly we can fight for it in Milwaukee and Chicago.
