Marisol, the American Girl

By

Our frequent contributor Bruce Thompson has a good post on his blog Machias Privateer, about the controversey over the Marisol Doll, part of the American Girl collection put out by  toy giant Mattell. Some in the Hispanic community are outraged that the story book accompanying the doll refers to her moving out of her dangerous urban neighborhood.

Bruce put it all in context:

Last night Peter Jennings of ABC News noted that the Iraqi insurgents had not blown up a single IED, nor fired a shot, nor a used a single RPG. Given how dangerous Chicago is compared to post—election Iraq, Marisol can now safely join the United States Army!
