The New McCarthyism

Regular contributor Bruce Thompson is calling for Congressional hearings on the charges by Eason Jordan that American troops targeted journalists. He notes that Democrats Chris Dodd and Barney Frank were in attendance, and were appalled at the charges.

Given the extent of damage already done to our global image by such charges, they are worthy of investigation under oath. "McCarthyism" is the name applied to the practice of making unsubstantiated charges. It would appear that a new Mccarthyism is about in the world of left wing jounralism.
