Racial progress in many forms
Yes, it is important to note that America has its first genuine African-American president in Barack Hussein Obama (D). But it is also important to note that there was very little comment that Richard Parsons, the newly named chairman of one of the nation's largest banks, the beleaguered Citigroup, is black. The company's chief executive, Vikram Pandit, is Asian.
And that's progress too.
