Obamacare centerpiece a bust

The AP has figured out that ObamaCare is a bust. “It’s a centerpiece of President Barack Obama’s health care remake, a lifeline available right now to vulnerable people whose medical problems have made them uninsurable. But the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan started this summer isn’t living up to expectations. Enrollment lags in many parts of the country. People who could benefit may not be able to afford the premiums. Some state officials who run their own “high-risk pools” have pointed out potential problems.”


We can all see where this is leading; total government funding of health insurance. The Public Option on steroids. Of course, this was the template buried in Obamacare from the start - despite protestations to the contrary from reform supporters. Much of the bill couldn't do anything else except lead to a massive government takeover and the architects of the bill knew this.

Before most of the bill becomes active in 2014, we will have a series of "crisis" where we will either have to repeal the entire bill and start over or "fix" what's wrong with it. The fix will be throwing more hundreds of billions of dollars at the problems and tighter federal control so that by the time the individual mandate becomes a requirement in 2014 (if it isn't declared unconstitutional), the parameters of national health care will be set in stone and impossible to repeal without doing massive damage to the system.
