Muslims behaving badly on Armistice Day in Great Britain
November 11th is a solemn day in the United Kingdom. Each year millions of Britons mark the end of World War One with two minutes of silence to remember the soldiers who fought and died in the ‘war to end all wars.’ Over the years ‘Armistice Day’ in Britain became a day in which the members of the Royal Armed Services have been honored for their sacrifices in the cause of freedom.
This year, the 92nd anniversary of the Armistice was marked with the usual ceremonies and events throughout the country. Britons gathered together in peaceful remembrance, many proudly sporting the traditional red poppies reminiscent of the poppy fields of Flanders where the brutality of trench warfare claimed the lives of thousands of young soldiers.
This year the crowd of veterans, their families, friends and neighbors gathered in west London near Kensington beneath gray skies, but something was different. This year at 11 in the morning as the crowd fell silent, the survivors of the honored dead, the disabled heroes from the field of battle and their loved ones were reminded of a new threat to their freedom.
The UK Daily Mail reports:
As the clock struck 11am, the Islamic protesters burned a model of a poppy and chanted ‘British soldiers burn in hell.’They held banners which read ‘Islam will dominate’ and ‘Our dead are in paradise, your dead are in hell.’
Of course the protesters, which numbered around 50 do not represent the vast majority of Muslim people who seek only to live with their neighbors in peace. Nothing to see here folks, just a minor misunderstanding. We must learn to be tolerant of those who merely wish to impose their beliefs, culture, religion and legal traditions upon the people of their adopted country.
