Obama happy to autograph DADT repeal
Last evening I received an email from Barack Obama touting the passage of the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” This latest lame duck assault on the American people will be cheerfully signed as soon as it reaches Mr. Obama’s desk. The message said:
This victory belongs to you. Without your commitment, the promise I made as a candidate would have remained just that.Instead, you helped prove again that no one should underestimate this movement. Every phone call to a senator on the fence, every letter to the editor in a local paper, and every message in a congressional inbox makes it clear to those who stand in the way of justice: We will not quit. This victory also belongs to Senator Harry Reid, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and our many allies in Congress who refused to let politics get in the way of what was right.
As with most of the future former president’s statements, there are a few truths sprinkled among the lies, “no one should underestimate this movement” and “we will not quite” are ominous reminders that Mr. Obama and his comrades will continue to use every means at their disposal to destroy our country.
Of course, Mr. Obama acknowledged his co-conspirators in operation “Enduring Treason” and told us of how they “refused to let politics get in the way of what was right.” Yes, Barry, Harry, Nancy and their comrades refused to let politics get in the way, so much so that they put this and other destructive legislation aside during the recent campaign, leaving them free to flaunt the will of the governed during a poisonous lame duck session.
Meanwhile, USA Today reports that during a recent stop to promote his new book “Of Thee I Sing” at Long Branch Elementary School, Mr. Obama told students that he wrote the book as a letter to his daughters “about how wonderful they,” adding that “it made me think about all the other wonderful people who are like them.” Naturally anyone not like the Obama girls are not wonderful. After reading to the children Mr. Obama had a short Q&A session with his starry eyed admirers:
One student told him her name was Malia, like his daughter.POTUS: “Give me a high five,” he said, slapping her hand. “That’s a great name.”
Another asked for an autograph.POTUS: “If I sign autographs, then I’d have to sign for everybody.”
Mr. Obama did mention that he signed a copy of the book for everybody in the school and gave it to the library. At the present time there is no indication that Bill Ayers helped Mr. Obama write his latest literary masterpiece.
It seems that when it comes to signing unpopular legislation designed to weaken our nation and our defenses or to increase the burgeoning deficit, or apply onerous, job killing regulations to business, Mr. Obama is all too willing to sign and sign and sign, but for a star struck group of children he maintains fiscal responsibility in carefully rationing the presidential ink.
