The left and fables
For the past week the professional left, including their propaganda arm, the main stream media, has demonstrated conclusively by their rapid, rabid response that they were denied access to age appropriate literature as children.
About a year ago I wrote an article for Pajamas Media regarding the left's determination to destroy our economic prosperity. To illustrate my point I referred to Aesop's Fables, particularly the "Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs" story.
Fables, as we all know, are a "narrative form, usually featuring animals that behave and speak as human beings, told in order to highlight human follies and weaknesses. A moral - or lesson for behavior - is woven into the story and often explicitly formulated at the end." (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2008)
Based on what is happening in the main stream media, the "rush-to-judgment" behavior of many commentators, pundits and others of the left's (self-described) intellectual base, the fables most of us were raised with were never made available to these poor souls.
Time and again in the past week, we have been bombarded with insinuation, innuendo, and bald accusations directed against Sarah Palin, the Tea Parties, all gun owners, all Republicans, all Libertarians, and just about anyone else who is not a card carrying member of the Liberal-Progressive-Democrat faith, forcing those accused to defend themselves from charges that have a basis only in the diseased minds of their accusers.
What escapes these "smartest-people-in-the-room" is the probable outcome of their nonsense.
A huge majority of Americans have already decided that the claims by the L-P-Ds that the killings in Tucson were motivated by the "climate of hate" produced by Sarah Palin, the Tea Parties and their co-conspirators are baseless. A CBS poll indicated that by nearly a 2-to-1 margin (57% to 32%) Americans have rejected this fantasy. Yet the L-P-Ds continue to peddle their snake oil even though their only customers are obviously not part of the "smartest-people-in-the-room" clique of which they are so inordinately proud.
Any time you catch someone uttering something that you know is false, your trust in the individual starts to erode. When they are called on the lie, yet continue to repeat it over and over, trust evaporates at an ever increasing rate. Yet the L-P-Ds, these incredibly brilliant folk who tell us that they are the only ones who can make reasonable decisions for the entire country, are repeatedly lying to us.
As the title indicates, the behavior of these people is obviously the result of being deprived as children, since apparently they, and only they, were never told the story of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." That didn't end too well for the boy who was so fond of a lie that brought him attention, that he kept repeating it over and over. Nor will it end well for the L-P-Ds and their acolytes. Every action has consequences, and no one can control what those consequences might be.
Never argue with Aesop. He always seems to have the last laugh.
