Real heroes don't brag
Four years too late, alas, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) is finally talking tough in a presidential campaign against Barack Obama (D). Appearing on Fox's The O'Reilly Factor O'Reilly asked McCain about Obama's self glorification in a campaign commercial on the first anniversary of the death of Osama Bin Laden (may he never rest in peace) by the US Navy's SEALs. McCain commented that any president, even the hapless Jimmy Carter (D) "would have obviously under those circumstances done the same thing" powerfully adding
"And I've had the great honor of serving in the company of heroes. And, you know the thing about heroes, they don't brag."
This point emphasized McCain's earlier statements on the subject.
Last week, McCain issues a statement denouncing an Obama campaign commercial heralding Bin Laden's death as "the height of hypocrisy" and accused the president of "a shameless end-zone dance to help himself get reelected."
"Shame on Barack Obama for diminishing the memory of September 11th and the killing of Osama bin Laden by turning it into a cheap political attack ad," McCain said.
And that's the advice of a real hero.
So thank you Senator McCain for your service to the USA.
And since President Obama really didn't mention this in his commercial, thank you SEALS.
