Watching a congressional hearing is somewhat akin to observing a diva in front of a mirror: much preening and posing, without a lot actually happening.

Thus it was that, as Obama supporter, big-time Democrat contributor, and IRS Commissioner John Koskinen appeared before the House Oversight Committee, much of the "questioning" led nowhere. And obvious follow ups were ignored.

Among the questions which begged to be asked, but weren't:

Koskinen, along with his fellow partisan Democrats on the committee, tried to make it sound that the crash of Lois Lerner's hard drive was an everyday occurrence, claiming that 2,000 IRS computers have crashed already this year. (If true, maybe it's time for the IRS to find a new computer vendor.) Conceding the point, experience indicates that in most organizations the folks at the top get the newest, best gear. Age is a key in many, if not most, equipment failures. Just how old was Lois Lerner's computer when the hard drive "crashed"? The newer the computer, the more suspicious the crash.

What was the specific nature of Lerner's hard drive crash? Was, say, a nail driven through it?

Were there other problems with Lerner's computer? Maybe damage caused by the heel of a size 9 pump being smashed into it?

It has been reported that Lerner's hard drive was "recycled." Does that mean a new hard drive was inserted into the computer? If so, it's more likely that the computer was newer and worth preserving, again making the hard drive crash even more suspicious.
