Burying the story

By

The New York Times buries (on page A—23 of the national edition) a story which it says could be a "major source of problems for the Clintons," most specifically for the electoral prospects of the very likely 2008 Democrat nominee for President, Hillary Clinton.

The story revolvces around Peter Paul, who worked on a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton, allegedly failing to report as required the donation of certain expenses of holding the event. Clinton lawyer David kendall now dismisses Paul as "a man with an impressive record of felony convictions." Of course, that raises the awkward question of why such a man was ever involved with raising money for Mrs. Clinton in the first place.
