Bush assasination joke?

By

Drudge is reporting that the Secret Service is investogating an Air America "comedy" skit in which gunshots are heard apparently as a warning to President Bush:

The announcer: "A spoiled child is telling us our Social Security isn't safe anymore, so he is going to fix it for us. Well, here's your answer, you ungrateful whelp: [audio sound of 4 gunshots being fired.] Just try it, you little bastard. [audio of gun being cocked]."

The audio production at the center of the controversy aired during opening minutes of The Randi Rhodes Show.

"What is with all the killing?" Rhodes said, laughing, after the clip aired.

Evidently, someone with common sense was among the very few listeners to Air America, and reported the matter. Inciting violence against a President is a serious crime. Our history has had far too many assasinations, and there are far too many lunatics out there to make it a joking matter.

The left loves to characterize conservative talk radio as "hate radio." Leave it to Air America to shown us what the genuine article looks like.

Update: The always wonderful Michelle Malkin points outthat this isn't the first time Rhodes has made assasination jokes. She even links to a Washington Post story making light of the earlier sick joke.
