Europe in trouble

Reliapundit, of The Astute Blogger, has a good post up today on the deepening economic crisis in France and Germany. It makes a good companion piece to James Lewis's article on the deepening political crisis in the EU.

Now why exactly is it that some American elites regard Europe as any kind of model for us? It must be the cuisine.
