There was a fifth large 527 contributor in 2004— Jane Fonda— about 12 million.  Contributions to federal candidates are limited to $2000 per cycle per election ($2000 each for primary and general election) and $40,000 in total per cycle. So Soros' money to members of the foreign relations committee is insignificant compared to his money for think tanks, and 527s (which can be unlimited).

There is clearly a megalomania to Soros at the moment— use those billions to change the world the way he knows best.
