Islamic scholar sentenced

Virginia lives up to its history as the home of many of our founding fathers. The Washington Post reports:

A prominent Islamic scholar who exhorted his followers after the Sept. 11 attacks to join the Taliban and fight U.S. troops was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison.

Ali al—Timimi of Fairfax, VA was accused of telling Muslims just days after 9/11 that an apocalyptic battle between Muslims and nonbelievers was at hand and that Muslims were obligated to engage in holy war. He called them to defend the Taliban by killing American soldiers. Now he gets a just sentence for soliciting treason. Maybe in this day and age, the Alien and Sedition Laws might have some value. Is there a lesson for Britain regarding their mullah problem? After all, this type of exhortation is what passes for small talk over there.
