Saving Jewish children
Nearly 60 years after the horrors of World War II, many scars haven't healed, the bitterness lingers, mysteries remain and questions, oh so many questions, remain unanswered.
Recently discovered documents from the post war era are sure to open many unhealed wounds: the fate of Jewish children who were hidden with Catholic families for protection but not returned to their Jewish families or Jewish institutions after the war.
And what was the Vatican's role, the Pope's attitude towards Jews and Judaism and the future of Jewish children who had been unwittingly baptized?
The answers——nay, even raising the questions—— are not going to be pretty. But they are necessary.
