State income and voting

By

A list of state median incomes has been issued. The highest income states ($10K or more above national average), were all Kerry states in 2004 presidential election — Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota , New Hampshire , New Jersey.

All of the lowest income states (10K or more below national median) went for Bush — Arkansas, Alabama, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia.

The Democrats continue to preach class warfare, but it does not appear to be working.  My guess is that they are losing in these lower—income states on social values, and weakness on national security.
