The real Hugo Chavez

By

In the past week, Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez gave a number of interviews to journalists, including Ted Koppel of Nightline and Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! Koppel did the best he could, and Goodman spent most of her time flattering the thug, but there was one interview — published today in the Washington Post, that asked the tough questions of the Venezuelan dictator and got surprisingly candid answers. Every single thing he says reveals the true extent of his hostility to the U.S. and willingness to spread his 'revolution' all through the hemisphere to amass power.

It's frightening stuff, a candid interview with a tyrant telling it like it is. The Washington Post, when it's good, really is the best newspaper in America.
